2016-17 Hillary's TAE/IGY hut, Cold Porch works, Canopy and sub floors installed

The contemporary outer Cold Porch, added to Hillary's hut after its relocation in 1989, was dismantled and replaced with a historically correct version. The original metal Covered Walkway was carefully removed during the dismantling and had its contemporary exterior paint covering stripped, exposing the original galvanised finish. It was re-installed during construction of the historically correct Cold Porch, between the Junction Box and Canopy. The historically correct building components were supplied kit-set from New Zealand based on drawings by Cheshire Architects Ltd.
