DescriptionAntarctic Heritage Trust Heritage Carpenter Doug Henderson examining a hole between the missing and shortened vertical wall battens at the North-east corner of Hillary's TAE/IGY hut, after removal of the contemporary Cold Porch.

When the contemporary Cold Porch was added to the hut after it had been relocated in 1989, the North-east corner wall batten was removed, and the adjacent batten and lower horizontal batten shortened. These were repaired/replaced using timbers of the correct dimension and profile.
