2006 Winter-over team with Conservation lab (010)

Antarctic Heritage Trust winter-over Conservation team outside the AHT Conservation Lab at Scott Base. The container conservation lab was delivered to Scott Base in January 2006, and funded with assistance from Hallensteins and a grant from the New Zealand Lotteries Grant Board. The conservation lab at Scott Base enables artefacts to be treated in Antarctica rather than relocated to New Zealand. The quote on the end of the container is the final line of the Alfred Tennyson poem Ulysses "To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." 2006 was the first year the Antarctic Heritage Trust had conservators winter-over at Scott Base for seven months.
